Ephemera Realty brings to you Poetics of Home, an interactive online exhibition.
This collaborative work questions the expectations of a domestic space, the structure of it and the need to belong. By creating a fictional property, the artists question the physical setting of home and how the construction of self is manifested to one's domestic space. The Poetics of Home is composed of different rooms from the domestic spaces of the contributing artists who work and live in multiple countries. The house, ultimately is a mash-up of individual private spaces that celebrates different cultures and ways of living. In each room, the artists' work is integrated with the surrounding space. In some rooms the work seems as though it belongs, in others it is jarringly out of place. Both question our relationship to objects and the immediacy of objects in our lives. Poetics of Home plays with ideas of reality and the imaginative. It is hard to decipher what is real and what is not in this house, what is tangible and what is impermanent.
